About Hope's Closet Designs
What's In Hope's Closet?
Hope's Closet designs specializes in handcrafted jewelry such as beaded bracelet-watches, wire-wrapped
pendants and earrings, and other unique treasures. We now have designs using handmade glass beads.
Pieces can be personalized and materials selected especially for you -- custom orders are encouraged!
Who is Auntie Amy?
Hi, I'm Amy, I'm the one who designed and created all the pieces you see on this site.  I've always been a
creative person, but I really got going with the craft projects 8 or 9 years ago.  I started out painting baby
clothes
(for Hope!), then adult clothes and other household stuff, then started making jewelry. I also picked
up tiling skills and I now do mosaics as well. Last year I took my first lampworking class and fell in love with
the process of making glass beads, so now my jewelry incorporates beads and pendants that I've made.

My work has been exhibited in galleries and sold at craft shows, and I continue to be able to work with glass
through the support of the wonderful Ellen Carver at Crafts For Living Gallery in Philadelphia PA, and my
mentors and friends, Patricia and Scott Wolfson.  I recently participated in a weekend workshop with Kate
Fowle Meleney, master bead-maker and fabulous teacher!  And I just completed my first glass-blowing class
at East Falls Glassworks in Philadelphia, which gave me new perspective on my craft.  I hope that my work
will continue to evolve and reflect my own unique spirit.

Many of my friends and family members have pieces that I've given them over the years, and some have
commissioned pieces for gifts for others. When they like what I've done they always ask if I have a website or
if  I sell my work anywhere.  I seem to be getting this question more often, so I'm creating this site in the hope
that others will enjoy my work as well!
...and who is "Hope" anyway?
Hope is my beautiful niece who inspired me to
express my creativity when she was born.
When I started out painting baby clothes they
were for Hope.  From that beginning I started
on the path to the artist I am today. Now Hope
is 8 years old and still gives me wonderful
new ideas (the beads you see here were
designed by Hope)!

I envision my work as little treasures that can
be found if you poke around in the closet ...
